The Basilica prays for Pope Francis
Pope Francis passed away this Monday, April 21, 2025 at 7:35 am. We entrust his soul to God’s mercy and invite all the faithful to join us in prayer for his eternal rest.
The Chapel of the Virgin Mary has been specially dedicated
to this intention until Saturday inclusive.
Come and light a candle in his memory.

- 8:30 pm Prayer Vigil
- 9:30 pm Compline prayer
- 10:00 pm Mass for Pope Francis
The Basilica will remain open until midnight. The entire night of adoration that follows will be dedicated to praying for Pope Francis, in recognition of his life and ministry.
Friday, April 25, 2025
- 3:00 pm Mass
- 4:00 pm Procession with litany of the saints to the chapel of the Virgin Mary and prayer for the deceased pope
- 8:30 pm Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the deceased pope
- 9:30 pm Compline prayer
- Starting at 11:00 pm Participation in the night of adoration. Please reserve.
